Suzuki for Tots is a once-weekly 60-minute class designed for babies and children from ages 4 months to four years. All classes are mixed age and use a constant curriculum to ensure thorough mastery with a Suzuki Early Childhood Education trained teacher.
Classes facilitate all ages and developmental stages and provide a rich musical environment for your child to experience success, in a nurturing and supportive environment. Parents will cherish class time bonding with their children and celebrating their growth.
Research from the Journal of Development and Science found that infants from the Suzuki early childhood programs showed a larger brain response to musical tones, and earlier communication skills, and were easier to soothe compared to traditional music classes.
If you are thinking of starting your child on an instrument, Suzuki for Tots classes will provide a strong musical foundation that will transition beautifully into our Suzuki or traditional instrumental program here at the Frost Preparatory Program, as early as age 4.
Dr. Suzuki devoted his life to the development of the method he calls Talent Education. Suzuki based his approach on the belief that “Musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability which can be developed. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability, just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. The potential of every child is unlimited.” Dr. Suzuki’s goal was not simply to develop professional musicians, but to nurture loving human beings and help develop each child’s character through the study of music.”
