Jessica MacLean is a masters' student in music therapy at UM. She is originally from Indiana, where she completed her undergraduate degree in violin performance and neuroscience at Indiana University. Afterwards, she worked in the Auditory Neuroscience Lab at Northwestern University where she worked on a research study examining the effects of music on auditory processing and linguistic abilities in preschoolers. At UM, she was a teaching assistant for the Donna E. Shalala MusicReach program, where she taught general music and string education classes to children in Title I schools. She is now completing her music therapy internship at United Community Options, working with preschoolers and adolescents with special needs. In her spare time she enjoys yoga and making pies. She is excited to join the Frost Prep / Little Canes team and share her love of music with everyone.
